As we celebrate the publication of the hundredth issue of the Slovenian Journal of Human Rights, we reflect on the establishment of the Journal in the second half of the 1990s as the first human rights journal in independent and democratic Slovenia and one of the first behind the former Iron Curtain. The creation of Dignitas, along with its published issues, narrates the story of past and ongoing successes and challenges in human rights protection in Slovenia and beyond. The hundredth issue features an insightful editorial on the origins and creation of the Journal, as well as excellent articles on human rights and constitutional law. At Dignitas, we remain committed to strengthening capacity and knowledge of human rights law and the rule of law in Slovenia, Central and Eastern Europe, and beyond.
